The Adult & Youth Beginner Team is a program to integrate new members into our riding group. It is an entry level group that is low key and works at the pace of its members. The majority of the drill maneuvers are done at a trot. This enables the riders and their horses to learn horsemanship skills and basic drill moves with precision and correctness. Because there’s not the pressure of competition, this group can be relaxing and fun. Some riders choose to stay in this group and enjoy drill team at a slower pace. Others become ready for the higher commitment level, and choose to try out for the Intermediate, or Advanced teams. With the approval of the Drill Masters, a rider may move up to a more advanced team for practice sessions. When there’s an opening on the team, the Drill Master will choose a position on the team for the upcoming rider.
If you are a beginner youth rider, and can trot comfortably, please join us on Monday’s at 6:00– 7:00 pm. If you are a beginner adult or youth rider and can trot comfortably, please join us on Tuesdays at 6:00– 7:00 pm.
If you have mastered trotting with control, and are starting to lope, please join us on Monday’s at 7:30-8:30 pm.
